Having a dad in this business means that I was hearing about retirement plans and the importance of saving before I even got my driver’s license. It’s been ingrained in me for as long as I remember!
Before joining McKay Retirement Consultants in 2015, I spent several years at a large 401(k) consulting firm in Bellevue, where I worked with institutional plans at a scale that most small and mid-sized businesses never encounter. When I came to MRC, I brought that service model with me — so the oversight, compliance guidance, and participant engagement our plan sponsors receive exceeds their expectations.
As a servicing advisor, I help clients day in and day out — and problem-solving is one of my favorite parts of the job. Overseeing our service model means getting to know our clients and staying proactive isn't just something I do case by case — it's built into how the whole practice operates. Being fully devoted to retirement plans, rather than splitting focus across other areas of financial services, means I bring a depth of knowledge to every plan I touch.
On any given day, I work directly with plan sponsors on administration, payroll questions, and compliance matters, and serve as the first point of contact for participants seeking to understand their accounts and outcomes. The feedback I hear most often is that people feel like they know me right away, which I take as a genuine compliment rather than a job description. I try not to take myself too seriously, because the results tend to speak for themselves.
I live in Kent with my dog Severus (who has developed quite a fan base with his wise LinkedIn posts on retirement planning). I spend my free time trying new hobbies and volunteering with the Seattle Humane Society and the PNW Scottish Highland Games Association. Dedicated to industry endeavors, I currently serve as the Co-chair for Women In Pension Network’s Seattle Chapter and am a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
