"Just call Tony" is what clients tend to say when they realize I'm the person who picks up the phone, figures out the answer, and gets things done. I review client performance daily, assist the advisors with account openings, funding, trading, income, withdrawals, and investment selection, and I've been doing some version of that across decades in this industry with no intention of stopping.

I started in the management training program at Puget Sound Bank in 1987, which moved me through a range of banking positions before I ended up managing the western regional call center under Key Bank. I left in 2000 and spent over a decade at Russell Investments in Tacoma, first as the Transfer Agent support supervisor and then supporting Russell employees' personal brokerage accounts, until they relocated the office to Seattle in 2012. I've been with McKay ever since, and there's nowhere I'd rather be.

The client relationships I find most meaningful are the ones that span years. There's a young woman who inherited her mother's accounts well over a decade ago and has been with us since. Watching those accounts grow steadily over that time, knowing that careful, consistent planning gives her the ability to retire on her own terms whenever she's ready, is its own reward.

I grew up in University Place, right next to the Fircrest golf course, though as a kid I spent more time in the woods around it than on the fairways. I still live nearby. My cat, Ella, adopted our household a couple of years ago when she arrived as a hungry stray and decided, based on our Turkey and Sirloin leftovers, that we were the right family. She was correct. I make the trip to Maui in both spring and fall, which I'd recommend to anyone, and I spend a fair amount of time quietly competing with the neighbors over whose yard looks best. My father helped start the Nativity House, a drop-in shelter for people experiencing homelessness in Tacoma, and our family continues to support it. I'm also known around here for my sense of humor, though after many years of marriage, my wife's assessment of how funny I actually am may differ from mine.
